Shed
a tear for truly a legend is dead. Hunter
S. Thompson was the father of Gonzo journalism
a style of reporting which places the writer in the
story. Most famous for his seminal work ‘Fear
and Loathing in Las Vegas’, which was turned
into a movie by Python animator Terry Gilliam, Thompson
was a true maverick of the media world defying convention
and clichés carving a niche all of his own.
He lived life on the edge soaking himself in mind
bending substances and copious quantities of booze.
Thompson also had a love for fire arms and sadly it
was with one of his beloved guns that he took his
on life in late February 2005. So lets all get the
Singapore slings in, with a side order of mescaline,
and toast a true hero of the drinking world! |
