Hollywood
swashbuckler Errol Flynn was reportedly
buried with six bottles of Whiskey.
Famous for his swashbuckling film roles in the likes
of “The Adventures of Robin Hood" and "The
Sea Hawk" Errol Flynn drank and womanised his
way through a career in Hollywood that was as much
full of controversy as it was full of glory and glamour.
A troubled child who was expelled from some of the
finest schools in Australia and the United Kingdom
Flynn hit the big time in his role as Fletcher Christian
in the Australian film "In the Wake of the Bounty".
Hollywood stardom soon followed, as did a life long
infatuation with teenage girls. His dubious sexual
preference got him into trouble with the authorities
when two teenagers accused him of statutory rape.
He beat the charges and the adverse publicity did
little to harm his film career or love for underage
schoolgirls. While his sexual preferences may come
under criticism his drinking abilities cannot. He
was a renowned boozer and hell raiser and towards
the end of his life his love for the bottle got the
better of him. While battling alcoholism he died of
a heart attack in the arms of a girl young enough
to be his daughter.
