Dean Martin. The night before he died Dean Martin enjoyed the pleasures of red wine.

Dean Martins stand up routine was laden with such pearls of drinking wisdom.

What can be said about Dean Martin that hasn’t been said a thousand times before? I could analyse his volatile relationship with the irrepressible Jerry Louis. I could bang on about his time with drinking legend Frank Sinartra and the rest of the Rat Pack. I could titillate you with tales of his drinking, and womanising, or bring you to tears with a boring critique of his musical career. I could detail his tragic demise after the death of his son Dino Junior in 1987, and his death of respiratory failure in 1995. No I shall talk of none of these things. Instead I will pass on a pearl of wisdom I learnt from the great man:
“If you drink, don't drive. Don't even putt.”
Sound advice from a legend of drinking!
