What projects are you currently working
on?
Magical Trevor 2 and the
Weebl (Wobbl) and Bob DVD. Doing the DVD
stuff is a lot of fun especially when
I keep finding I’ve somehow deleted
portions of the original flash file.
The Badger animation
has become quite a phenomenon. Did you
ever expect it to be so popular? Can you
explain its popularity?
No I never expected it
to be so popular. How could you predict
something like that? To me it was just
a silly little toon. Skoo said it would
be popular mind. As to why it’s
popular I’d guess because it’s
ultra singable by even the least musical
of people and catchy as hell. Also it’s
got badgers in it.
Out of all the
characters you’ve created which
is your favourite?
Magical Trevor.
Your work is an
odd mix of cute cartoons and dark humour.
Where do you get your inspiration from?
All over the place. Films,
adverts, Vic and Bob, Skoo, beer, cheese,
knifes….
I tend to just sit down
and play a silly tune for the musical
ones. Then sing the first thing that comes
to mind till I’ve got a song. For
the story based toons Skoo and I meet
up on IRC and throw ideas at each other.
When growing up
which cartoons and animated programmes
did you enjoy watching?
Chorlton and the Wheelies,
Jamie and His Magic Torch, Ulysses 2031,
Rhubarb and Custard… I could carry
on all day. The moment that really sticks
out is when I saw Laputa Castle in the
Sky by Hayao Miyazaki way back in 1989.
Beautiful film.
You work in a
variety of mediums, which is your favourite
and why?
I do? Erm. Flash I guess.
The reason is I know it like the back
of my hand and you can make it do pretty
much anything really.
Considering both
lions and tigers are from Kenya who would
win in a fight?
Godzilla.
What is your
favourite alcoholic beverage?
JD and Coke (Diet coke
these days). It’s great.
When was the last
time you got so drunk you puked?
The day after my house
warming party. It was dry heaving though
and hurt like hell.
Do you know any
good cocktail recipes?
There’s this drink
I came up with with a chum when I visited
the US.
You need:
Cafeinated 7up
A nice bottle of plum
wine
Mix to taste and then
watch terrible films featuring Dolph Lundgren
(Any film he’s in basically)
Which is the best
city to go out partying in?
I like London or Edinburgh.
Fancy joining
the Cult of the Drunken Prophet?
Sorry I’m washing
my cat.
