I
was surfing the proverbial Internet the other day and
I came across the web site for trance terrorists Eat
Static. Nice site, nearly as good as mine. I like their
music so I thought I'd drop them a line and ask them
a few questions. Here is the result of my drunken inquisition.
1. Do you drink? Not
much now! did far too much of that in our youth!
2. What's you favourite
pub called and where is it? Why do you like it so
much?
smugglers inn-Lanzarote...great
atmosphere,the best cocktails,giant pirate statues
everywhere!
3. Describe your ideal
night out.
loud music n hard drugs n kinky
sex!
4. How do you feel about
the whole Pop Stars and Pop idol phenomenon?
we absolutely loathe it..it makes
us sick to the stomach...we are losing so many talented
artists to this scourge! I can't believe the general
public are that gullible..
6. What projects are you
currently working on?
several at the moment...a new
eat static album that will have a few surprise guest
vocalists on! We have just remixed Banco de Gaia,Infected
Mushroom,My life with the thrill kill kult,charlie
watts,finished 2 albums with steve
jolliffe(tangerine dream), an eat static album of
remixes of classic tracks!
7. Any live dates lined
up for the near future?
we are off to australia next week
for a tour,then new years eve at whirly gig,then a
string of dates in march in england and ireland...
8. Had any weird experiences
with the occult?
well,we do attract some strange
people...actually we both used to play in a mad pagan
punk band called the Oroonies...john peel loved it
and one of our tracks 'the woods are alive with the
smell of his coming' has just been
covered by a big metal thrash band! And friends of
ours are leading writers on the scene...
9. Richard Harris was
November's drinker of the month? Did his death effect
you in anyway?
well,i was a little sad...i have
always liked actors and artists generally, that never
quite fitted in, were rebels in some form...oliver
reed was a classic example...
10. Got any effective
hang over cures?
a fat line of charlie?
11. When was the last
time you were so drunk you puked up?
along time ago!....i think i'd
drank a gallon of scrumpy on top of six microdots!...not
very healthy!
12. What's your most embarrassing
drunken moment?
was too out of it to remember!
13. What is your favourite
alcoholic beverage?
at the moment...malibu and coke....
14. Any chance I could
get a signed copy of your new album and a couple of
free tickets to your next gig?
