| The Pool
Window is best described as the window of opportunity
during which a person is able to play pool at their
optimum level in relation to how many beers they have
consumed. |
|
| The
main factors involved being the confidence and relaxation
given to you from having a few drinks versus the over-confidence
and woeful lack of judgement you get from being absolutely
arseholed. The average for a normal person would be
somewhere in the region of a 2 to 5 pint window, then
things will start to go wrong and its time to go and
work your magic elsewhere. |
|
| When
considering your Pool Window it is obviously preferable
to make it as large as possible to achieve maximum time
on the table in a ‘winner stays on’ situation
and increase any potential winnings you may be playing
for. |
|
A notable exception
to the standard Pool Window comes in the form of Canadian
Snooker pro and Top Drunks star Bill Werbeniuk, who
used to down eight pints before a match and then a
pint for every frame. It should be noted though that
this was due to a medical condition and probably best
not imitated on a regular basis. |
